Community Engagement
Community engagement is extremely important to me as a person and a candidate. I believe in the power of knowing your neighbors and building your collective power together. Throughout the last few years, I have planned and hosted a variety of events and fundraisers to benefit local organizations like Stray to Spay and Omaha ForUs. I am also actively hosting events to raise awareness for ICE's inhumane practices, such as the February 5th "Dykes Against ICE" protest and a valentine-making party to send some extra love to children who are affected by ICE.

If elected, being county commissioner would be my full-time job, Without other corporate interests, I would be able to spend my time engaging with the community and volunteering with local organizations to make Omaha a better place.

Mental Health
Douglas County residents deserve access to quality mental health care. As county commissioner, I would focus on honing our county mental health services into the best possible version they can be.

Youth Services
As a teacher, youth services are extremely close to my heart. Omaha's youth deserve robust services and programming that is educational, developmentally appropriate, and engaging. As county commissioner, I would ensure that youth services programs get the vital funding they need in order to serve our community.

Omaha's STI Rates
Omaha is well-known for a lot of things: our STI rates shouldn't be one of them. As county commissioner, I would focus on restructuring our testing efforts to make them more accessible to the Omaha community.

Supporting the Local Economy

As a consumer, supporting the local economy has always been extremely important to me. Most recently, I have been focusing my efforts on supporting businesses affected by the streetcar construction. I have personally met with business owners and patronized many businesses that need our help. As county commissioner, I would encourage city officials to lean into the idea of creative problem solving in order to support these businesses throughout this massive construction project.
